Superdupont Tome 1 : Renaissance. SuperDupont is the  french funny version of the super hero , really done on a humour way because he really looks « old fashion » and a bit like the  french stereotype that americans have of french people : with a beret, a small moustache, always a baguette and a bottle of wine in his hands, and dressed in ways   that are quite  not how french people look nowadays (probably more appropriated to 1945’s style in the countryside of France when GI’s came to free France, anyway…) Well our Superdupont was done in humouristic way by Marcel Goetlib, he does have super strength and fly , He’s gone already through lot of adventures  but now he’s gone through a new important step in his life, he has a son ! he had a romantic experience with a woman crazy in love with him . His son is as powerful or even more as Superdupont already at his birth and lot of adventures come in the way and Superdupont has to deal  with his fatherhood of a small baby superhero.

What’s changed for this new album and graphic novel it’s that Goetlib is not the penciler and author of  this graphic novel, François Gloub with the help of Goetlib and Belkrouf leads this new chapter in SuperDupont’s life.

I wanted to have this new graphic novel , more in the graphical way of usual  comics , more super hero style, and not the funny style of Marcel Goetlib. This story is interesting fun to read; and surely dedicated to the fans of this character, I liked it but  can’t say I adored it, it was good  and fun to read.

Superdupont Tome 1 : Renaissance

Nous retrouvons ici Superdupont, pour ceux qui ne connaîtraient pas , c’est l’antithèse du super héros à l’américaine, nous retrouvons ici un héros avec une image très stéréotypé du français : petit, avec un bret, un marcel, petite moustache limite à manger du calendos avec sa baguette sous le bras, son litron de vin,ses charentaises et ses cigarettes Gauloises j’exagère  à peine 😉 Cela montre un peu le stéréotype que les américains se font des français et je pense que c’était voulu par Goetlib au départ. ( il faut voir que c’était surement le look  typique français des habitants de nos campagnes dans les années 1945 quand les GI’s ont débarqué en France).

Superdupont doit maintenant faire face à une nouvelle aventure  il devient papa et son fils naît avec des super-pouvoirs ce qui va annoncer toute une nouvelle série d’aventure dans la vie du super-héros français.

Goetlib n’est plus aux commandes visuel de ces nouvelles aventures de Superdupont, c’est bien dans son style comique et par son graphisme si particulier que cet anti-héros a gagné ses lettres de noblesse. ici on retrouve un personnage avec un style graphique proche du style super héros de François Boucq, ce qui est agréable visuellement mais il est clair que l’on peut s’attendre à retrouver l’esprit initial  de Goetlib dans le trait , alors qu’ici il n’intervient que sur le scénario .

J’ai bien aimé cet album, plaisant à lire, histoire simple plausible et qui reste assez fidèle au personnage mais de la à dire que j’adore non, ce n’est pas le cas, c’est un bon album de BD des aventures de Superdupont mais pas celui que je préfère.
