The secret that Nick Fury told Odinson which made the Asgardian unable to lift Mjolnir will be revealed in March 22’s The Unworthy Thor #5, according to long-time Thor writer Jason Aaron. The former God of Thunder and previous wielder of Mjolnir has been « Unworthy » since 2014’s Original Sin, leaving Jane Foster to take up the mantle of Thor.
“I always said we’d eventually find out just exactly what Nick Fury whispered to Thor Odinson that made him unworthy,” Unworthy Thor writer Jason Aaron toldComicBook. “The words have been scribbled in my trusty Thor notebook for years now. Words that speak to the overall story I’ve been telling with this character going back to Thor: God of Thunder #1. The next phase of that story begins now.”
The Unworthy Thor has sent Odinson on a quest to claim a new Mjolnir – that of the former Ultimate Universe. The story will end with a showdown between Odinson and Thanos – and of course with the revelation of Odinson’s secret.
Aaron gave no indication what the revelation would be, but editor Wil Moss did have some insight into how the secret fits into the overal tapestry of Aaron’s ongoing Thor saga, saying, “I remember when Jason told me what it was that Nick Fury whispered, it just felt so satisfying – like, it’s definitely a big curveball, but it feels so organic to Jason’s overall larger Thor story – it feels earned.
« If you’re looking for some insight into who Thor Odinson is as a character and if you’re looking for a sense of where Jason is going to take things from here (both with Odinson and with Jane – and with all Ten Realms!), then brace yourself, ‘cause this secret hits harder than Mjolnir.”
Jack Kirby a donné vie sur les planches à d’innombrables héros , dont les personnages des X Men aujourd’hui adaptés au cinéma. Des fous de BD tourangeaux préparent un ouvrage international pour lui rendre hommage.
Cette année, Jack Kirby, illustre dessinateur de Comics, les fameuses bandes dessinées américaines de superhéros, aurait eu 100 ans. Thor, Hulk, les X Men ou encore les Avengers, tous ces héros ont été créés sous son crayon.
Pour lui rendre hommage, des amateurs Tourangeaux ont décidé de collecter des témoignages d’artistes, auteurs, réalisateurs du monde entier pour tenter de comprendre l’influence de ce dessinateur dans la culture d’aujourd’hui. C’est Laurent Lefeuvre, auteur de la BD « Fox-Boy » qui signe l’illustration de couverture.
Un projet hors normes, à l’image de l’auteur
Ils ont donc conçu un ouvrage gigantesque, illustré, bilingue Anglais et Français et sont actuellement dans la dernière ligne droite pour le financer et le publier. L’ouvrage va mesurer 33 centimètres de haut pour 25 de large.
« L’idée était de rendre hommage à cet artiste hors normes qu’était Jack Kirby. » explique l’un des initiateurs du projet, le Tourangeau Mickaël GEREAUME. « Il faut bien comprendre que ces dessins ont marqué les jeunes du monde entier… dans les années 60, là où la majorité des dessinateurs produisaient 20 planches par mois, il en réalisait 80 ! »
Les auteurs ont crée une plateforme pour récolter des fonds afin de finaliser leur projet. Les bénéfices seront reversés à une association caritative.
Marvel isn’t making the anticipation any better with the buzz around the debut of X-Men: Blue.
As part of the ResurrXion lineup,X-Men: Blue will accompany X-Men: Gold, Jean Grey & Iceman solo titles, as well as Weapon X and Generation X books. The series is part of a mutant focused collection of books which will serve as the aftermath of the Inhumans V X-Men crossover series.
X-Men: Blue focuses on the original five time-displaced mutants, with resident telepath and Phoenix host, Jean Grey leading the charge. This works for the team as Jean showed signs of maturity and exceptional leadership skills in Brian Michael Bendis’ All New X-Men run. The team features Jean, Iceman, Hank McCoy, Cyclops and Angel – reestablishing themselves in the Marvel universe under the mentorship of none other than Magneto. Now before you raise an eyebrow, this isn’t the first time Magneto has mentored the X-Men, in fact, he has a long track record of stepping in whenever Xavier couldn’t, most noticeably in the Age of Apocalypse arc.
The official synopsis reads:
THE ORIGINALS! Join MARVEL GIRL, CYCLOPS, BEAST, ICEMAN and ANGEL as they reclaim the title of X-MEN. After the world-shaking events of IVX, the original five X-Men are here to bring mutant criminals to justice and restore a heroic sheen to their team. Comic Book Resources received an exclusive look at what lies ahead for the young mutants with preview images of the first few pages of the book, and they don’t disappoint. Between the new and improved costumes created by comic/fashion guru Jamie McKelvie and art by Jorge Molina, the previews look incredible. Any X-fan can tell you that the X-Men haven’t been as merry as they could be, so it’s refreshing to see the vibrant colors, in your face action and fun in the panels!
Jim Starlin continues his journey through Marvel’s Cosmic wing.
Marvel has announced Guardians of the Galaxy: Mother Entropy, a new five-issue limited series from writer Jim Starlin and artist Alan Davis, just in time for the May release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
The story focuses on Mother Entropy, a new cosmic villain created by Starlin for the story. Starlin has created numerous Marvel Cosmic characters, including Thanos, the Infinity Stones, and even the Guardians’ own Drax and Gamora.
Starlin bills the series as a standalone story that is accessible to fans of both the Guardians of the Galaxy films and their ongoing comic series.
Alan Davis did some minor redesigns for the characters as well, giving Star-Lord a goatee and putting Gamora back in a suit that’s « less Stormtrooper and more ninja, » according to Starlin. The series also brings Pip the Troll into the Guardians lineup, something Starlin says he’s surprised didn’t happen sooner.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Mother Entropy #1 is due out on shelves in May.

Parce qu’il entend des voix, a des hallucinations et se pense doté de pouvoirs télékinésiques, David Haller est interné depuis des années dans un hôpital psychiatrique. Jusqu’au jour où il s’éprend de Sydney, une nouvelle pensionnaire qui ne supporte pas d’être touchée. Là, sa vie bascule. Et comme il ne parvient pas à distinguer ce qui est réel de ce que son cerveau lui raconte, le cauchemar ne fait que commencer.

On ne vous en révèlera pas plus sur l’intrigue de ce premier épisode de la série Legion, tant elle est dense et se perd dans les méandres de la psyché de son héros, et surtout parce qu’il vaut mieux découvrir ce pilote sans a priori. Une seule recommandation cependant : oubliez tout ce que vous savez sur les séries de superhéros. Aussi divertissantes et variées soient-elles, elles n’ont d’autre point commun avec Legion que d’être tirées de comics. Car Legion, c’est l’histoire du fils du Professeur Xavier, le mentor des X-Men. David Haller s’avère être l’un des plus puissants mutants à avoir arpenté notre monde. Mais même sans savoir cela, la série se suffit à elle-même.

Pour bâtir son univers, Noah Hawley (showrunner de la série Fargo) n’a pas emprunté la voie de la facilité. Exit les codes du genre. Legion ne ressemble à rien de ce qu’on a pu voir auparavant. Polymorphe, exigeante, d’une beauté absolue… Quelques secondes ont suffi pour nous convaincre que nous avions devant nous quelque chose d’unique. Comme un bon vieux réflexe, on cherche des comparaisons, des passerelles, on essaie de se raccrocher à un terrain familier. Mais on comprend rapidement que Legion n’a absolument pas l’intention de nous mâcher le travail. Elle réclame toute notre attention, mais aussi, nous enjoint à lâcher prise.

After several teaser images, the plan for Marvel Comics’ next event, Secret Empire, has been unveiled in an article with its Disney sister company, ABC. The Hydra sleeper agent Captain America pushes his secret machinations public in what Marvel Senior VP Tom Brevoort described as « a Watergate moment » which mobilizes Marvel’s other heroes to stop him.
« Steve has been kind of lining his dominoes up around the Marvel Universe to be able to make his move and bring about a Hydra revolution, a takeover, » Brevoort said. « At the point of Secret Empire, they are ready to go. That’s the moment we hit as we go in. »
Nick Spencer, who crafted Steve Rogers’ « Superior Soldier »-style turn last year, will write Secret Empire, with a rotating team of artists to include Steve McNiven, Andrea Sorrentino, Leinil Yu, and Daniel Acuna. Mark Brooks is lined up to illustrate the series’ primary covers.
Since the revelation of Steve Rogers’ sleeper agent status was revealed in May 2016’s Captain America: Steve Rogers, the classic Marvel hero has been shown to be slowly orchestrating a series of events to equip himself and Hydra for a takeover of the world. Rogers has been shown to have orchestrated many of the events of Civil War II, including the murder of Bruce Banner – for which he later took possession of the original Hulk’s zombified body.
According to Brevoort, Secret Empire is where Hydra’s private plans go public.
« We are done with the covert portion, the buildup portion of the program, Secret Empire if the pyrotechnics, the big Michael Bay blockbuster, huge colossal struggles and battles across the Marvel Universe, with all of our key characters and players taking on a big role, » said Brevoort.

Secret Empire comes at a time where all of the founding Avengers save semi-retired Janet Van Dyne (a.k.a. the original Wasp) are either dead, incapacitated, or off the board. With the advent of « Divided We Stand » last year, a newer crop of heroes – many taking the names of older heroes – have become front-and-center in the Marvel U.
Alonso said that Secret Empire will feature all of Marvel’s major teams and families, including the Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, the Champions, and the Defenders.
The event kicks off with Secret Empire #0 in April, which Brevoort frames as « the worst day of the Marvel Universe. »
« Where not one, not two, but three separate events break out all at once. Cap, as head of S.H.I.E.L.D., is able to mobilize forces to all three of those situations. And those three situations represent Hydra’s first move. It comes off the blocks explosively right from the get-go. »
Secret Empire is expected to run for nine issues, culminating in an August finale.
