The promotion for Captain America: Civil War is in full swing now, with thepremiere earlier this week, the first reviews out, and of course, lots and lots of TV Spots.
The short video clips and shortened versions of trailers are coming fast, now, with three more adding up to fourteen so far released. Most of the TV spots focus on two things: the bombastic action scene at the airport where all the heroes clash, and the deeply personal nature to the fight between Tony Stark, Iron Man, and Steve Rogers, Captain America.

It’s been about 14 months since Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures officially announced they’d be teaming-up for Spider-Man‘s film future. Bringing Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they announced, he’d first appear in a Marvel Studios film, which we now know is Captain America: Civil War, but then go on to a Sony Pictures-produced solo movie.
Tuesday night at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures hosted their annual panel, looking at their future releases, and officially announced that Spider-Man‘s new movie will be titles Spider-Man: Homecoming. The title was rumored thanks to a domain name registration earlier this month, but was confirmed for the first time at the panel.
The title helps reflect the younger take on Spidey that they’re going for this time around, keeping him in High School and letting him take on the problems of a teenager, as well as those of a superhero. That take has been indicated almost as long as the deal was done, and was reflected in the youngest actor yet being cast for the big screen role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Tom Holland. Holland flew to Las Vegas for the title reveal, just a few hours after being on the red carpet for Captain America: Civil War.
Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman said the title is « both a high school reference, and a homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe » after the reveal.
As for Marvel Studios, they’re also on production for Homecoming, president Kevin Feige recently explained in detail that it’s a Sony Picture, with Marvel creative assistance, something he intuited during the initial announcement of the landmark character-sharing deal.

David Wenham has joined the cast of Marvel’s Iron Fist as Harold Meachum, Marvel Television […]
David Wenham has joined the cast of Marvel’s Iron Fist as Harold Meachum, Marvel Television announced on Monday.
Meachum is a ruthless corporate leader who was once the partner of Danny Rand’s father. In the Marvel Comics universe, Meachum’s betrayal of the Rands is partly responsible for Danny coming to live and train in the mystic city of K’un-L’un. Meachum’s role in Danny’s life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be revealed over the course of Iron Fist’s first season.
As with previous casting, this announcement was accompanied by a teaser image released on Marvel.com. The image shows a New York Bulletin newspaper cover reporting that Meachum is ill.
Wenham is joining a cast that already includes Finn Jones as Danny Rand and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.
Wenham is likely best known to sci-fi and fantasy fans for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and 300, and also co-starred in the BBC mystery drama Top of the Lake. He’ll next appear in the drama Lion, opposite Nicole Kidman, and in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
In Marvel’s Iron Fist, Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
Iron Fist is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2017.
