We have an awesome new shot of Sophie Turner’s ‘Jean Grey’ guiding Tye Sheridan’s Scott Summers as he fires off his optic beams. Plus, some new information on the upcoming trailer!

Marvel characters have really been on a roll to start off 2016, already picking up big wins withDeadpool and Captain America: Civil War, and they’re in prime position to pick up the hat trick when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters this Memorial Day weekend.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly‘s massive summer movie preview, we have a stunning new still from the upcoming Bryan Singer-directed epic featuring our new Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner (Game Of Thrones), lending a helping hand to a young Scott Summers, played by Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One) as he blasts his optic beams at an unseen foe. The latest issue doesn’t divulge anything more on the film’s plot, but it does reveal that Sheridan has signed on for at least two more X-Men movies after Apocalypse, which is probably also the case for his fellow young co-stars – Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, & Kodi Smit-McPhee.

On another note, it looks like we’ll be getting a brand new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse in the next week or so as the British Board of Film Classification recently released this classification for the upcoming trailer:

The promotion for Captain America: Civil War is in full swing now, with thepremiere earlier this week, the first reviews out, and of course, lots and lots of TV Spots.

The short video clips and shortened versions of trailers are coming fast, now, with three more adding up to fourteen so far released. Most of the TV spots focus on two things: the bombastic action scene at the airport where all the heroes clash, and the deeply personal nature to the fight between Tony Stark, Iron Man, and Steve Rogers, Captain America.

It’s been about 14 months since Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures officially announced they’d be teaming-up for Spider-Man‘s film future. Bringing Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they announced, he’d first appear in a Marvel Studios film, which we now know is Captain America: Civil War, but then go on to a Sony Pictures-produced solo movie.

Tuesday night at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures hosted their annual panel, looking at their future releases, and officially announced that Spider-Man‘s new movie will be titles Spider-Man: Homecoming. The title was rumored thanks to a domain name registration earlier this month, but was confirmed for the first time at the panel.

The title helps reflect the younger take on Spidey that they’re going for this time around, keeping him in High School and letting him take on the problems of a teenager, as well as those of a superhero. That take has been indicated almost as long as the deal was done, and was reflected in the youngest actor yet being cast for the big screen role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Tom Holland. Holland flew to Las Vegas for the title reveal, just a few hours after being on the red carpet for Captain America: Civil War.

Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman said the title is « both a high school reference, and a homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe » after the reveal.

As for Marvel Studios, they’re also on production for Homecoming, president Kevin Feige recently explained in detail that it’s a Sony Picture, with Marvel creative assistance, something he intuited during the initial announcement of the landmark character-sharing deal.

20160411 – Final X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Character Posters Feature ‘Archangel’ And The Titular Villain

We were told that the final two mutants would be unveiled today via the official X-Men: Apocalypse app, and now one has been revealed to be Ben Hardy’s Archangel. Who do you think the last one will be?

The official X-Men Movies app has unveiled one of the two final X-Men: Apocalypsecharacter posters (you can see the rest HERE), and as expected, it’s En Sabah Nur’sAngel of Death (Ben Hardy).

Though his appearance does pay homage to some aspects of Archangel’s comic counterpart, fans were disappointed that they didn’t go full-on bald, blue killing machine. I guess 3 blue mutants in one movie was enough!

We’ll update as soon as the last poster hits, though it can really only be one of two characters at this point: Jubilee, or Apocalypse himself.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men Apocalypse s’annonce comme un film riche en conflits, mais rassurez-vous les scénaristes nous ont réservé un peu de romance !

Reste-t-il un peu d’amour dans ce monde de brutes ? Alors que nos X-Men préférés affronteront l’un des mutants les plus puissants de l’histoire dans X-Men Apocalypse, nous sommes rassurés d’apprendre que le film de Bryan Singer contiendra un peu de romance et c’est tant mieux ! Les deux personnages concernés ne sont autres que les versions jeunes de Jean Grey et de Cyclops qui, malgré la période difficile dans laquelle ils évoluent, vont trouver un peu de réconfort l’un avec l’autre. Voici ce que le réalisateur a annoncé : « Au départ, il ne fait absolument pas attention à elle. Lorsqu’il arrive dans l’école de Charles-Xavier, Scott est aveugle et ne peut pas la voir. Puis d’un coup, il possède des lunettes qui lui permettent de voir et se dit « Oh, c’est Jean Grey »! »

Il poursuit : « Ils ont tous les deux du mal à se fondre dans la masse. Les autres mutants ont accepté leurs pouvoirs et sont à l’aise avec alors que tout est nouveau pour Scott et il n’aime ni sa situation, ni l’école. Quant à Jean, elle doit gérer ses pouvoirs télépathiques et sa télékinésie, mais elle sait aussi que quelque chose de sombre et de dangereux est en elle et elle ne sait pas ce que c’est ». Nous avons vraiment hâte de découvrir ces nouvelles versions des deux mutants qu’interprètent Sophie Turner et Tye Sheridan. Vous pouvez d’ores et déjà découvrirles personnages d’X-Men Apocalypse sur des posters inédits !
