WATCH: Marvel Debuts First « Luke Cage » Footage, Trailer – Marvel Television has released the first scenes from star Mike Colter’s upcoming Netflix series.
Couldn’t make it to Comic-Con International in San Diego? Marvel Television has you covered, releasing the first look at footage from Netflix’s « Luke Cage » moments after the show’s panel concluded.
The first video, which frames the new footage with clips from previous « Daredevil » seasons and « Jessica Jones, » features star Mike Colter as the titular hero, putting bad guys through walls and allowing them to break fists on his diamond-hard skin.
The second video is a proper trailer for the series, opening as Luke is wrestling with his conscience, debating whether the life of a hero is for him. Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s « Shimmy Shimmy Ya » kicks in as the rest of the teaser unfolds, and Luke unleashes his powers on those who deserve it.
Also starring Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Rosario Dawson, reprising her role as nurse Claire Temple, Sonia Braga as Soledad Temple (Claire Temple’s Mom), Frank Whaley as Detective Scarfe and Simone Missick as Misty Knight, « Luke Cage » drops September 30 on Netflix.

SDCC: Marvel’s « The Defenders » Unleashes First Teaser Trailer – Check out the Nirvana-scored teaser trailer for Netflix and Marvel’s upcoming superhero team-up series, « The Defenders. »
At a panel during San Diego’s Comic-Con International, Marvel and Netflix released the first teaser trailer for next year’s superhero team-up series — which sees Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones together in live-action, for the first time — « The Defenders. »

Additionally, Marvel/Netflix debuted the first Luke Cage trailer, as well as the « Iron Fist » trailer at the presentation; you can read CBR’s report from the panel here.
« The Defenders » is expected to drop on Netflix in 2017.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off isn’t going to series.
Marvel Studios may be on an almost unprecedented winning streak on the big screen and Netflix seems like another winning play, but their broadcast network-ABC corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t quite hitting home runs like their theatrical and streaming cousins.
According to Variety, fresh off the cancellation of Agent Carter , ABC has passed on the pilot of what was once considered an almost certain-pick-up, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off Marvel’s Most Wanted for the upcoming season.
The series would have focused on Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). Delroy Lindo was also cast as Marvel Comics character Dominic Fortune. There is no word if Palicki or Blood will return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was renewed for a fourth season by the Disney-owned network back in March.
This is the second time a Mockingbird S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off has been cancelled. ABC was originally developing one for the 2015-2016 season but cancelled plans at this same time last year, only to revive it again as Most Wanted.

ABC Cancels « Agent Carter » – Despite season two’s cliffhanger ending, ABC’s « Agent Carter » will not return for a third season.
« Agent Carter » will not return for a third season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled the series.
Since star Hayley Atwell signed to ABC’s new procedural « Conviction, » her odds at filming both series was suspect, especially considering ABC’s hopes for the new series. Additionally,the second season closed with series-low ratings, which further put the show’s chances of renewal in jeopardy.
During the lead up to this decision, executive producer Tara Butters encouraged fans to Tweet their support for the show. Fans took to Twitter to show support for the cult favorite series, using the hashtag #RenewAgentCarter to urge ABC to renew the show.
« Agent Carter » season two concluded with a cliffhanger; one of the show’s recurring characters, Chief Jack Thompson, was shot in his hotel by a mysterious figure in black, who took several forged documents that accuse Peggy of heinous war crimes. The finale also saw the demise of Whitney Frost and the first step in Peggy and Sousa’s budding romantic relationship.

L’union entre Marvel et Netflix va donner naissance à une nouvelle série. Après Daredevil et Jessica Jones, et alors que celle consacrée à Luke Cage (baptisé… Marvel’s Luke Cage) sera disponible dès cet automne, un autre projet va être mis en chantier. Il mettra en vedette The Punisher.
Le site américain Entertainment Weekly a effectivement annoncé ce vendredi que le personnage, apparu dans la saison 2 de Daredevil, aurait droit à sa propre série dérivée. Aucune date de diffusion n’est encore arrêté mais le rôle du vétéran de l’armée Frank Castle, lui, sera repris par Jon Bernthal.

In « Versus Zoom, » Hunter Zolomon got what he wanted all along: Barry’s speed.In « Versus Zoom, » Hunter Zolomon finally got what he wanted: Barry’s speed. However, before he even made it back to Earth-1, « The Flash » flashed back to Zolomon’s childhood and revealed the character’s Earth-2 origin.
As it turns out, Hunter Zolomon is one of Earth-2’s only serial killers. The episode revealed a traumatic event from his childhood, one that parallels Barry’s own origin: Zolomon watched his father murder his mother. However, Zolomon didn’t have a surrogate parent like Joe West who was ready and willing to take him in; instead, he grew up in foster care, after all remaining family members refused to take him in.

Zolomon grew up to be a serial killer, murdering 23 people before his capture. Instead of jail, he was sent to a psychiatric hospital, where he underwent shock therapy in order to cure his murderous urges. This is exactly what was happening when Earth-2’s particle accelerator went off, and it ultimately gave him his speed.
In addition to Zoom’s origin, the episode found Cisco tapping a new ability. Using Reverb’s glasses, he was able to manually open the breach between worlds with his powers, which is what allowed Zoom to return to Earth-1.
Thanks to his return to Earth-1, Zoom was able to kidnap Wally and demand Barry’s speed in exchange. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Barry chose to give up his speed in order to save Wally. Zoom took Barry’s speed, but something went wrong with the transfer, causing Zoom to lash out against Barry. Caitlin begged him to stop, desperately appealing to any part of him that might have felt something for her. Her plea worked, and Zoom took off, leaving Barry powerless but alive.
During the transfer, Zoom answered a few questions for the team, as well as the audience. As it turns out, the Jay that died was a time remnant of his past self, who he convinced to join him. Additionally, he explained why he masqueraded as Jay Garrick: because he enjoyed « playing » a hero, giving the people hope before ripping it away. However, when Barry asked who the man in the mask was, Zoom dodged the question by saying, « You wouldn’t believe me if I told you. »
Starring Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes and Jesse L. Martin, « The Flash » airs Tuesdays at 8 pm EST on The CW.

Alors quand on parle d’univers étendu, ooù se trouve la place d’Hawkeye dans toute cette organisation. Son interprète, Jeremy Renner, a sa petite idée sur le sujet, puisque pour lui, Hawkeye serait le candidat idéal pour une série télé sur Netflix, calquée sur le modèle deDaredevil, comme il l’a précisé lors du Sillicon Valley Comic Con ce week-end :
« Je pense que c’est un excellent modèle. S’il y a une possibilité d’explorer le personnage, peut-être est-ce de cette manière. Je ne contrôle pas vraiment ce genre de choses, mais j’y suis ouvert.J’ai beaucoup aimé exploré Hawkeye un peu plus loin récemment et Netflix est l’endroit où tous les personnages dramatiques vont en ce moment. Vous faites un film de super-héros ou un un truc dans le genre Netflix ou HBO. J’y suis donc ouvert, mais ça ne dépend pas de moi. »
En tout cas, l’appel est lancé. Et il est vrai que ce ne serait pas forcément une mauvaise idée de consacrer une série à Hawkeye, puisque, mis à part les petits nouveaux, il est peut-être le personnage le moins bien traité de tout l’univers Marvel.
