Idris Elba’s villainous Krall may underestimate humanity — to say nothing of the Enterprise crew — in the latest promo for the Paramount Pictures sequel.
Paramount Pictures has released a new TV spot for “Star Trek: Beyond” showing the Enterprise crew doing what it does best: getting itself into trouble.
Called “Unity,” the 30-second promo is packed with action and quips, with the focus on Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto’s Spock. However, most of the other cast members make cameos, with Idris Elba’s alien antagonist Krall providing the spot with its title.
“Unity is not your strength,” he growls, only for Kirk to respond, “I think you’re underestimating humanity.”
Directed by Justin Lin, the sequel also stars Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Sofia Boutella. “Star Trek Beyond” opens July 22.

STAR TREK BEYOND will reveal that a crewmember of the Enterprise is openly gay.
More than 20 years after Gene Roddenberry promised to spotlight LGBT characters in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the franchise is getting its first official gay character as Star Trek Beyond will reveal that Enterprise Helmsman Hikaru Sulu has a same-sex partner with whom he has a child.
Roddenberry’s promise never came to fruition on Star Trek: TNG, though the show did attempt to show non-traditional gender dynamics and broached the topic of homosexuality, but the reveal in Star Trek Beyond will reportedly be made in accordance with Roddenberry’s vision of gay and lesbian crewmembers whose sexuality is a non-issue.
“I liked the approach, which was not to make a big thing out it,” Sulu actor John Cho told the Melbourne Herald Sun. “Which is where I hope we are going as a species, to not politicise one’s personal orientations.”
According to Cho, the choice to make Sulu gay was made as a tribute to actor George Takei. Takei played the character in the original Star Trek series and subsequent movies, and has become a vocal activist for gay rights since coming out in 2005. Star Trek Beyond castmember Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock, is also openly gay.
Star Trek Beyond premieres in theaters July 21.

The latest images from the Paramount sequel show an injured Spock, an alarmed crew, and a bridge that’s definitely not the Enterprise’s.

The photos debuted today on the Chinese-language website Check Magazine, just three weeks before the arrival of the final trailer for the Paramount Pictures sequel.
Kirk, Spock, McCoy & Co. are shown on the bridge of what Trek Core identifies as likelythe USS Franklin, which will stand in for the Enterprise after — well, you’ve probably seen the trailer. How many times has the Enterprise been destroyed, anyway?
Directed by Justin Lin, “Star Trek Beyond” stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban and Idris Elba. The film opens July 22.

This will be the last Daily / Weekly selection of this year and probably next one , I will post less of this and less frequently I mean but more some personal reviews of movies, tv shows, or more other personal activities .
Thanks for following me in this selection that will be made on a more randomly frequence. Hope you’ll still get along with my future posts more about my personal tastes, and more personal points of view 🙂
